Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto reacts to Blackburn draw

Cesar Peixoto admitted Wolves must improve their composure and organisation after being held to a 2-2 draw by Blackburn Rovers in their Championship opener.

Wolves took the lead through Marshall Munetsi but found themselves behind after Sean McLoughlin and Andri Gudjohnsen turned the game around for Blackburn.

Raul Jimenez rescued a point for the hosts with a late penalty, but Peixoto was left frustrated that his side failed to secure all three points.

The Wolves boss felt his team were the better side before the break and created more opportunities, but admitted they lost their shape after Blackburn’s second goal.

Peixoto said his players began playing more “with the heart” than their heads and stressed the importance of maintaining mental stability throughout the full 90 minutes.

He also acknowledged that there is plenty of work to do, particularly with Wolves expected to challenge for promotion this season.

Despite the draw, Peixoto insisted Wolves created more chances than Blackburn and believes his side were the better team overall.

The result leaves Wolves with plenty to improve on, but Peixoto will hope the lessons from Molineux can help his side build momentum in the weeks ahead.
