Burnley confirm the arrival of Dastan Satpayev on loan from Chelsea

Chelsea teenager Dastan Satpayev will spend the 2026/27 campaign on loan at Burnley after the Championship club officially confirmed his arrival.

The Clarets are preparing for life back in the second tier after ending last season second from bottom in the Premier League. They have also undergone a change in the dugout, with Nicky Hayen taking over following the departure of former Chelsea coach Scott Parker late in the previous campaign.

Satpayev has joined Burnley shortly after celebrating his 18th birthday. The Kazakhstan international spent the entire pre-season with Chelsea, having been granted special permission by former club FC Kairat to begin training with the Blues before his permanent transfer was formally completed.

His 18th birthday marked the official conclusion of the previously agreed move to Stamford Bridge in accordance with FIFA regulations. Chelsea have committed to the highly rated youngster on a contract running until 2033.

Despite his limited opportunities during pre-season, Satpayev caught the eye with several encouraging performances. The loan move to Burnley should now provide him with an opportunity to gain regular experience in competitive English football.

Remarkably, Satpayev already has 63 senior appearances to his name despite his age. His experience also includes 12 Champions League outings, earned during Kairat’s impressive run through four qualifying rounds to reach the competition’s league phase two seasons ago.
