Norwich City and QPR target Poland sensation Filip Luberecki as price tag emerges

Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers are reportedly among a number of Championship clubs tracking highly-rated Polish full-back Filip Luberecki ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old defender has impressed for Motor Lublin and with Poland’s Under-21 side, attracting growing interest after an impressive campaign in the Ekstraklasa.

Luberecki featured 31 times in Poland’s top flight last season, playing a key role as Motor Lublin narrowly avoided relegation under manager Mateusz Stolarski.

With just one year remaining on his contract this summer, the defender is expected to be available for around £850,000 plus bonuses — a fee likely to alert a number of Championship clubs searching for value in the market.

Norwich, now under former Rangers boss Philippe Clement, are understood to be keen on adding youthful talent to the squad after an encouraging rebuild. The Canaries have already moved to strengthen in key areas and see Luberecki as a player with long-term upside.

The Polish youngster has also hinted that a move abroad is firmly on his mind. Speaking previously about his ambitions, Luberecki admitted he believes his ceiling lies beyond the Ekstraklasa and revealed he has already received offers from overseas.

“I already had offers from abroad, and I know the ceiling is higher than the Ekstraklasa,” he said, adding that he wants to push himself as far as possible in his career.

For Norwich, Luberecki could provide strong competition at left-back, particularly with Kellen Fisher expected to shift back to his natural role on the right side of defence next season.

However, the Canaries may face stiff competition, with QPR and several unnamed Championship clubs also monitoring the situation as Luberecki appears increasingly likely to leave Poland this summer.
