Fresh allegation emerges as Danny Röhl faces internal Rangers unrest behind closed doors

Rangers F.C. manager Danny Röhl is reportedly facing growing unrest behind the scenes, with fresh concerns emerging over his relationship with players following a public fallout with club captain James Tavernier.

Tensions escalated after Tavernier, 34, appeared to accuse Röhl of breaking promises regarding his involvement in what was expected to be his final appearance at Ibrox.

In a social media post, the veteran defender suggested assurances had been made about his playing time and the opportunity to walk out with his children as mascots.

However, those plans never materialised, with Tavernier left on the bench and ultimately forced to watch Rangers’ final home match from the sidelines.

Röhl has since denied making any guarantees, insisting his decisions were based solely on what was best for the team.

But the explanation has reportedly done little to ease frustration, with questions now being raised about trust in the manager’s leadership.

Former assistant manager Manchester United F.C. coach Brown warned that the dispute could have serious consequences inside the dressing room, claiming players may begin to doubt whether Röhl will honour commitments made to them.

According to Brown, if senior figures see the captain treated in such a manner, it risks creating uncertainty and mistrust throughout the squad.

The controversy comes at a difficult time for Röhl, who is already facing mounting pressure after Rangers’ disappointing run of form.

Despite ending the campaign with a 5-2 victory over Falkirk, the club had suffered four straight defeats beforehand, crashing out of the title race and increasing frustration among supporters, some of whom have started calling for managerial change.
