Sheffield Wednesday F.C. supporters receive update from David Storch amid takeover progress
A takeover of Sheffield Wednesday F.C. is nearing completion, with David Storch expected in the city as he prepares to finalise the deal through Arise Capital Partners.
Storch, alongside his son Michael and business associate Tom Costin, has been targeting a May 1 deadline — a goal that now appears within reach. Despite a difficult campaign on the pitch, excitement among supporters is growing, with Saturday’s final home game against West Bromwich Albion F.C. already sold out.

Off-field signs have also fuelled speculation that the takeover is close. The club shop briefly closed for a stocktake earlier in the week, sparking curiosity among fans, before reopening with noticeable changes to merchandise displays.
Hillsborough is expected to host a lively atmosphere for the final match, themed “Honolulu Wednesday,” with supporters encouraged to arrive early and take part in what could mark the beginning of a new chapter for the club.
The occasion has even drawn attention from Rick Blangiardi, the Mayor of Honolulu, who sent a message of support to fans, praising their loyalty and resilience during a challenging period for the club.
