Celtic F.C. hit by fallout from Martin O’Neill’s Joel Mvuka claim
Joel Mvuka arrived at Celtic F.C. in February as a short-term attacking option, but his lack of involvement has quickly cast doubt over the move.
Martin O’Neill had spoken highly of the winger upon arrival, praising his pace, versatility, and experience while backing him to make an immediate impact. However, those expectations have not been met.

The 23-year-old has barely featured, managing just two appearances and 87 minutes, and has since dropped out of the squad entirely. Strong form from Yang Hyun-jun and James Forrest has only made his path back into the team more difficult.
With Mvuka currently on loan from FC Lorient and an option to buy in place, his situation highlights wider concerns around Celtic’s recent recruitment. A summer overhaul now looks likely, with Mvuka expected to be among those who depart.
