Rangers’ stance on signing Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday F.C. clarified before the upcoming window

Rangers F.C. are being strongly encouraged to pursue a move for Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday F.C. in the upcoming transfer window, with growing belief that the young goalkeeper has the quality to succeed at Ibrox.

Former defender Gareth McAuley, who previously worked with Charles at youth level for Northern Ireland, is convinced the 20-year-old has the attributes needed to make a significant impact. Meanwhile, Danny Rohl is thought to be in a strong position to convince the player to make the switch, having already worked with him during his time at Hillsborough.

Rangers currently rely on Jack Butland as their first-choice goalkeeper, but at 33, the club will soon need to plan for a long-term successor.
