Martin O’Neill provides fresh injury update on Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand at Celtic F.C.
Celtic F.C. interim boss Martin O’Neill has provided an encouraging update on the fitness of Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand as they edge closer to a return from injury.
Both players have been sidelined since last year after picking up injuries in European matches against SK Sturm Graz and FC Midtjylland.

O’Neill confirmed that the pair are now back in training, raising hopes they could feature again before the end of the season. However, he admitted that this weekend’s clash at Hampden against St Mirren F.C. will come too soon for both players.
The Celtic boss highlighted Johnston’s progress in particular, noting that he has returned to training without any setbacks, which is a positive step forward. Osmand is also making steady improvements, though he remains slightly behind in his recovery timeline.
O’Neill suggested that both players could be available for selection after the league split, provided their progress continues. He also revealed that Johnston may have already been closer to a return had it not been for a minor setback during his recovery period.
With the season entering a crucial stage, the return of both players would provide a timely boost for Celtic as they look to finish strongly.
