New footage of Rangers F.C. goal supports Ibrox star’s VAR stance against Falkirk F.C.
Players from Falkirk F.C. were convinced that the cross delivered by the Belgian had gone out of play, but new footage suggests otherwise.
A reverse-angle clip of Rangers F.C.’s opening goal appears to support the referee’s decision to allow it to stand. The incident was reviewed by VAR after strong protests from Falkirk players, who appealed to referee Don Robertsonfollowing the goal.

The move saw Tochi Chukwuani finish from close range after a knock-back by Djeidi Gassama, which came from a cross delivered by Nicolas Raskin. Falkirk players believed Raskin’s ball had gone out before being played back in, prompting VAR official Andrew Dallas and his team to review the incident.
However, Scott Arfield insisted the ball had remained in play—and replays circulating on social media appear to back up his claim. The angle shows Raskin’s cross from near the Main Stand corner, with no clear evidence of the ball fully crossing the line.
Despite the controversy, Falkirk manager John McGlynn dismissed any suggestion of injustice, instead criticising his team’s defending.
He pointed out that his players were appealing without certainty rather than dealing with the danger, adding that they failed to compete for the ball and didn’t react quickly enough after it rebounded off the post and fell kindly for the finish.
