Jack McGlynn sends clear message to Stoke City after Blackburn victory
Stoke City continued their impressive run of form on Tuesday night with a hard-fought victory over Blackburn Rovers, further strengthening their position in the Championship play-off race.

Mark Robins’ side have recovered remarkably well from their difficult start to the campaign, suffering just one defeat in their last 11 league matches. Summer signing Jack McGlynn has played an important role in that turnaround and is quickly becoming a favourite among supporters.
The American midfielder was once again at the centre of the action against Blackburn, producing a superb free-kick that caught goalkeeper Balazs Toth by surprise and gave Stoke the advantage. The strike also took his Championship goal tally to four for the season.
The Potters extended their lead to 2-0 in the second half after a defensive misunderstanding involving Yuri Ribeiro and Moussa Baradji presented them with another opportunity.
Blackburn managed to pull a goal back late in the game and thought they had found an equaliser shortly afterwards. However, the goal was ruled out for an alleged push on Ben Wilmot, allowing Stoke to hold on and collect another valuable three points.
McGlynn had already attracted attention following his performance against Preston North End the previous weekend, and his latest contribution has only strengthened his growing reputation at the club.
His performances are clearly making an impression inside the dressing room, too, with several Stoke players responding to his latest social media post following the Blackburn victory.
Wilmot showed his appreciation with a message featuring a goat emoji, the American flag and a heart, while goalkeeper Viktor Johansson responded with an enthusiastic compliment.
Ethan Galbraith also reacted with fire emojis, while Luke Graham described the young midfielder as frighteningly good.
Such reactions underline the growing excitement surrounding McGlynn, who appears to be settling into English football with impressive speed.
The 23-year-old arrived from MLS side Houston Dynamo late in the summer transfer window in a deal reportedly worth around £4 million, including potential add-ons.
After just 10 Championship appearances, he has already registered four goals and two assists, giving Stoke another attacking threat as they look to maintain their push towards the top of the table.
His latest free-kick against Blackburn was another reminder of the quality he possesses, with even the opposition goalkeeper seemingly caught off guard by the strike.
If McGlynn can maintain this level of performance, Stoke supporters will have plenty of reasons to be excited about what he could deliver over the remainder of the season.
