Brendan Rodgers Set to Break Silence on Celtic Exit
Brendan Rodgers is set to return to Glasgow — and Celtic supporters could finally get the answers they have been waiting for over his dramatic departure from the club.
The former Hoops boss will appear live with A Celtic State of Mind host Paul John Dykes at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on June 14, 2027.
Rodgers’ appearance will inevitably attract huge interest given the circumstances surrounding the end of his second spell at Celtic.
The Northern Irishman resigned as manager in October 2025, bringing his second stint at Parkhead to a dramatic conclusion.
The fallout became even more public when Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond subsequently issued a statement in which he described Rodgers as “divisive, misleading, and self-serving”.
Now, more than 18 months after his departure, Rodgers will have a public platform to discuss his time at Celtic and potentially offer his own version of events.
Dykes confirmed that Rodgers, who is currently managing in Saudi Arabia, will headline the event, with tickets going on sale on Friday, October 2.
The announcement is certain to generate significant interest among Celtic supporters, particularly because Rodgers has yet to publicly revisit every detail surrounding his resignation.
His departure, the breakdown in his relationship with Desmond and the criticism that followed are likely to be among the biggest talking points when he takes to the stage.
Rodgers will also have the opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary success he enjoyed during his two spells in the Celtic dugout.
His achievements remain a major part of his legacy at Parkhead, but it is the way his second spell ended that is likely to dominate the conversation.
There has been plenty of time for emotions to settle since his resignation, potentially giving Rodgers the opportunity to speak more openly about what happened behind the scenes.
Exactly how far he is prepared to go remains unknown, and the organisers have not confirmed the subjects that will be discussed.
However, it will be difficult for a conversation about Rodgers’ Celtic career to avoid the events that ultimately led to his exit.
By the time he walks onto the Glasgow stage next June, more than a year and a half will have passed since his resignation.
For Celtic fans, that lengthy gap could make his return even more fascinating.
Whether Rodgers chooses to reveal new details or simply reflect on his time at Parkhead, his first major public return to Glasgow promises to be an event surrounded by plenty of anticipation.
