Reo Hatate speaks out for the first time since leaving Celtic for Burnley

Reo Hatate has finally addressed his move from Celtic to Burnley, sending his first message directly to the Clarets supporters since completing his transfer.

It has been a difficult opening to the Championship season for Burnley, who are still searching for their first league victory under manager Nicky Hayen.

The Clarets remain the only team in the division yet to record a league win as October approaches, with their next opportunity coming after the international break when they travel to Watford on October 10.

That poor start has come despite Burnley being widely expected to challenge near the top of the Championship following their relegation. Their preparations for the new campaign were far from straightforward, however.

Hatate was one of 11 players brought in by Burnley during the summer transfer window. The Japanese midfielder completed his move from Celtic on Deadline Day for a reported £6.5 million, ending a four-and-a-half-year spell at Parkhead.

Almost a month after making the switch, the 28-year-old has now spoken publicly about his new chapter while Burnley attempt to turn their season around.

Hatate sends first message to Burnley fans

Hatate enjoyed a highly successful spell with Celtic after arriving from Kawasaki Frontale under Ange Postecoglou.

He made 191 appearances for the Scottish giants, scoring 33 goals and providing 31 assists. The midfielder also collected five Scottish Premiership titles during his time with the Hoops.

Since joining Burnley on September 1, Hatate has featured four times, starting two of those matches.

With Burnley not returning to Championship action until their trip to Watford, Hatate used social media to personally address the club’s supporters for the first time since his transfer.

The midfielder acknowledged that Burnley are experiencing a difficult period but insisted his approach will remain unchanged.

Hatate explained that his focus is on working hard, competing in every situation and doing everything possible to help his new team collect victories.

He also made it clear that he intends to continue pushing himself to improve and believes consistent effort will be crucial to building a successful future at Turf Moor.

Hatate ended his message by expressing his excitement about beginning this new chapter and fighting alongside his teammates and the Burnley supporters.

His message was simple: he is ready to give everything for the Clarets and help the club get their season back on track.
