VAR controversy: everything to know about Camilo Duran’s disallowed goal against St Mirren

Celtic’s 2-1 victory over St Mirren in Paisley has been overshadowed by a number of controversial VAR decisions, with Camilo Duran’s disallowed goal attracting particular attention.

Duran appeared to have brought Celtic level in the first half, only for the goal to be ruled out after a VAR review for offside. The decision was extremely tight, and the footage available to viewers has done little to settle the debate.

The VAR image appeared to show Duran marginally behind the St Mirren defender, although questions have been raised about whether the correct frame was selected at the precise moment the ball was played.
