Exclusive: Bolton, Charlton and Blackburn battle for Wrexham forward Davis Keillor-Dunn

Davis Keillor-Dunn’s future at Wrexham is becoming increasingly uncertain, with three Championship clubs showing interest in taking the forward away from the Welsh club before the transfer deadline.

Football League World understands that Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Blackburn Rovers are all monitoring the 28-year-old as they look to strengthen their squads before the window closes.

Keillor-Dunn only joined Wrexham from Barnsley earlier this year, but he has struggled to establish himself in Phil Parkinson’s plans. His limited involvement has now opened the door for a potential temporary departure.

The forward’s situation has been a talking point throughout the summer, and a move now appears increasingly possible with several Championship clubs keen to offer him a fresh opportunity.

Three Championship clubs targeting Keillor-Dunn

Interest in Keillor-Dunn has intensified with deadline day approaching.

Bolton, Charlton and Blackburn are understood to be competing for his signature, with all three clubs continuing to work on late additions before the window shuts.

The proposed move is expected to be a loan for the remainder of the 2026/27 season, rather than a permanent transfer.

Keillor-Dunn had previously been linked with Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday, but the latest developments suggest that his next destination is more likely to remain in the Championship.

A temporary exit would give him the opportunity to secure regular first-team football after finding opportunities difficult to come by at the Stok Cae Ras.

Wrexham spell has failed to take off

Wrexham were forced to fend off competition to bring Keillor-Dunn in from Barnsley, where he had established himself as one of League One’s more productive attacking players.

His record with the Tykes helped generate interest from elsewhere, but things have been considerably more difficult since his move to North Wales.

Keillor-Dunn made only six league appearances during the second half of last season and has failed to start a match for Wrexham since joining.

His opportunities have become even more limited this campaign, with Parkinson having several options available in the attacking areas.

The versatile forward can operate as a striker or in an attacking midfield role, but competition from players such as Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer Moore has left him struggling to break into the side.

With only a little over 30 minutes of action so far this season, a loan move could now be the best solution for both player and club.

Why Bolton, Charlton and Blackburn are interested

Keillor-Dunn’s previous record in League One explains why Championship clubs remain interested despite his lack of opportunities at Wrexham.

He produced consistently impressive numbers during his time at Barnsley and could now offer one of the three clubs an attacking option capable of making an immediate impact.

For Bolton, Keillor-Dunn could become particularly useful if James McAtee departs. His versatility and goalscoring record would give Steven Schumacher another weapon in the final third.

Charlton have also made an impressive start to the campaign and currently sit at the top of the table after winning their opening three matches. Nathan Jones already has plenty of attacking options, but Keillor-Dunn could add another source of goals and creativity.

Blackburn, meanwhile, could benefit from greater depth in attack. Todd Cantwell is expected to play an increasingly important role for Tony Mowbray, while injuries to Mathias Jorgensen and Yuki Ohashi have reduced the available options.

Adding Keillor-Dunn would therefore give Rovers another experienced attacking player and increase competition for places.

With all three clubs interested, the race to secure Keillor-Dunn on loan could become one of the more intriguing moves of deadline day.
