Rangers could sanction Bojan Miovski exit as Kevin Kelsy move nears completion

Rangers appear increasingly likely to allow Bojan Miovski to depart before the summer transfer window closes, with the club closing in on the signing of Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy.

The proposed deal for Kelsy is believed to be worth approximately £9.5 million, with the Venezuelan forward expected to undergo his medical ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Manager Derek McInnes has been looking to strengthen his attacking options ever since Youssef Chermiti suffered a serious ACL injury, and Kelsy’s impending arrival would give him the additional centre-forward he has been seeking.

However, Kelsy joining the squad would likely leave Miovski further down the striker pecking order. That raises the question of whether Rangers are prepared to sell the Macedonian outright or instead send him out on loan.

Rangers’ plan for Bojan Miovski

Reports had already indicated that Miovski could be moved on if Rangers completed a deal for Kelsy, although the exact nature of his departure had remained uncertain.

According to a fresh update from the Daily Record, Rangers could consider a loan move for Miovski should Kelsy complete his transfer without any late complications.

The Ibrox club appear willing to let Miovski leave, but they have taken a very different position regarding another attacking player.

Rangers refuse to sell Djeidi Gassama

There has been interest in Djeidi Gassama from RB Salzburg, where former Rangers boss Danny Rohl is now in charge. A move would potentially give Rohl the opportunity to work with Gassama at a third club.

Despite the reported interest, sources close to Rangers insist the club does not intend to sell Gassama before the transfer deadline.

That stance remains unchanged even after Rangers brought in Kim Min-su and Daisuke Yokota, while they are also believed to be pursuing Amario Cozier-Duberry.

Gassama is reportedly valued at roughly £8.5 million, while Monaco are also understood to be monitoring his situation. Nevertheless, Rangers appear determined to retain the winger and are expected to keep him at Ibrox until at least the January transfer window.
