Rangers continue Amario Cozier-Duberry pursuit despite Kim Min-su arrival

Rangers have reportedly maintained their interest in Amario Cozier-Duberry, with the winger still being considered as a potential addition despite the recent arrival of Kim Min-su.

Derek McInnes appears keen to strengthen his options in the wide areas before the transfer deadline on September 3. Rangers have been working on a deal for the Brighton attacker but have so far been unable to find an agreement with the Premier League club.

Despite those difficulties, Cozier-Duberry remains on Rangers’ shortlist as the final days of the window approach.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a productive loan spell with Bolton Wanderers last season, registering nine goals and 13 assists in League One. His performances have made him an attractive option for Rangers as they look to add more attacking quality.

Brighton have also been holding discussions with the player over his contractual situation, although Rangers have not abandoned their efforts to bring him to Ibrox.

Latest on Cozier-Duberry and Rangers

One possible route could involve Cozier-Duberry agreeing a fresh contract with Brighton before moving to Rangers on loan.

However, Brighton have yet to officially announce any extension for the winger, leaving his future unresolved.

According to the Rangers Review on August 27, Cozier-Duberry continues to be regarded as a “live” target by the Scottish club.

Negotiations between Rangers and Brighton are understood to remain ongoing as the Gers attempt to reach a deal before the September 3 deadline.

Rangers have already had a reported £7.5 million proposal turned down for the Englishman. The next step will depend on whether Brighton are prepared to reconsider their position and what level of offer could persuade them to sanction his departure.

With the transfer window rapidly approaching its conclusion, Cozier-Duberry’s situation remains one to watch at Ibrox.
