Major squad overhaul at Birmingham City F.C. as 14 players released and contract talks begin
Birmingham City F.C. have officially confirmed their retained list following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign, with defender Jonathan Panzo among the players leaving the club this summer.
Panzo arrived at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park in January on a short-term six-month contract from Rio Ave F.C., hoping to earn a longer stay with the Blues. However, after making nine appearances during the second half of the season, the defender will now depart when his deal expires.

Birmingham have also confirmed the exits of several loan players, with Tommy Doyle, James Beadle, Jhon Solís and Ibrahim Osman all returning to their parent clubs following the end of their temporary spells.
Meanwhile, the club have moved to retain two promising young goalkeepers. Third-choice stopper Bradley Mayo has been offered a fresh contract despite not yet making a senior appearance, while fellow academy goalkeeper Will O’Sullivan has also received a new deal offer.
Away from the senior squad, Birmingham have confirmed a major clear-out at academy level, with 13 youngsters set to leave the club once their contracts expire at the end of June.
Yusuf Ahmed, Godfred Boakye, Trae Briscoe, O’Shea Ellis, Cameron Eubank, Tommy Fogarty, Daniel Isichei, Cody Pennington, Frank Tattum, Szymon Terenowicz, Zachary Willis, Ben Wodskou and George Wynne will all officially depart the Blues this summer.
Both Isichei and Wynne were involved with the first-team environment during the season and earned places on the senior bench, though neither managed to make their competitive debuts.
In addition, Birmingham have triggered one-year extension options for several academy prospects, with Briar Bateman, Billy Burrell, Caleb Sanders, Alezandro Da Silva and Tyrese Warmington all seeing their contracts extended through to 2027 as the club continues planning for the future.
