Key reasons Frank Lampard might leave Coventry for AFC Bournemouth
Coventry City F.C. have spent most of the season at the top of the Championship table, only briefly slipping in February during a dip in winter form. Now, promotion to the Premier League is within reach for Frank Lampard’s side.
The Sky Blues missed an early chance to seal promotion after being held to a surprising goalless draw by relegated Sheffield Wednesday F.C. at the CBS Arena. However, their place in the top flight will be confirmed if they avoid defeat against Blackburn Rovers F.C. at Ewood Park.

As Coventry edge closer to a return to the Premier League, attention is already turning to the summer and potential squad improvements. Yet, their success could also bring complications, particularly regarding their manager.
Lampard’s impressive work has not gone unnoticed, and interest from other clubs is beginning to grow. Developments at AFC Bournemouth are especially significant, following confirmation that Andoni Iraola will leave when his contract expires.
With a vacancy opening at the Vitality Stadium, Lampard is reportedly among the candidates being considered. He has also been linked with Crystal Palace F.C., who are searching for a replacement for Oliver Glasner.
Bournemouth are said to be exploring several options, including Marco Rose, Kieran McKenna, and Iñigo Pérez.
Even if an approach is made, Coventry would be in a stronger position to retain Lampard if they secure promotion, and they will hope his strong bond with supporters influences his decision.
However, despite that connection, the chance to manage Bournemouth in the Premier League could still prove a tempting opportunity that is difficult for Lampard to ignore.
