Rangers in prime position to land 33-year-old Championship star
Rangers are in a strong position to secure the signing of a highly-rated Championship forward, who shares an agent with Jack Butland.
The Gers continued their impressive form with a 4-2 win over Dundee United, moving to the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
However, pressure remains from Heart of Midlothian and Celtic in the ongoing title race. Head coach Danny Röhl has insisted he is ignoring rivals’ results, choosing instead to stay focused on his own team’s performances.

Despite their attacking strength, Rangers are keen to bolster their forward line this summer and have identified Joe Gelhardt as a key target.
The Leeds United striker, currently on loan at Hull City, has impressed during his Championship spell, contributing 13 goals and several assists.
With both Rangers and Leeds United linked through 49ers ownership, a deal—either loan or permanent—appears increasingly possible.
Hull are keen to retain Gelhardt, but their chances may depend on securing promotion to the Premier League, as they currently sit fifth in the table.
Hull boss Sergej Jakirović has described the 23-year-old as “special,” highlighting his attacking threat and ability to take on defenders.
Gelhardt’s direct style is reflected in his dribbling stats, leading all Hull players in successful take-ons per 90 minutes this season.
