Middlesbrough FC forward secures a new contract as he sets his sights on a spot at the World Cup
Middlesbrough have secured a key boost in their push for promotion, agreeing a new one-year deal with former Leeds United FC defender Luke Ayling.
The 34-year-old has become a mainstay at the Riverside Stadium since joining Boro on a free transfer in summer 2024, following a successful loan spell. Under Kim Hellberg, Ayling has made 85 appearances and been crucial in the Swedish coach’s first season, as Middlesbrough target a return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, forward Conway earned his seventh Scotland cap in a narrow Hampden Park defeat to Japan, and is now aiming to make an impact in Tuesday’s friendly against Ivory Coast. He hopes strong performances can help him secure a spot in the Scotland World Cup squad.
