This is the latest Liverpool news and rumors. Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, was told he was “lucky” not to be sent off for a hit on Dominik Szoboszlai in the FA Cup.

Lee Dixon talked about why he thinks Bruno Fernandes didn’t get a second yellow card in Liverpool’s game against Manchester United.

It was a quarterfinal of the FA Cup on Sunday at Old Trafford between two teams that hate each other very much. Manchester City, Coventry, and Chelsea had already made it to the semi-finals, so there was still a spot open.

United’s Scott McTominay scored the first goal, putting United ahead early in the game. That being said, Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah scored for Jurgen Klopp’s team just before halftime.

For a hit on Dominik Szoboszlai at the start of the second half, the midfielder was lucky not to get a second yellow card. He was already booked after Salah’s goal. Fernandes did not get a second yellow card even though he was called for a hit.

VAR did not step in to ask referee John Brooks to change his mind and give Fernandes a red card. Dixon, who was one of the game’s co-commentators, said the player was “lucky” not to have been sent off.

He told ITV Sport, “I’m looking at the Liverpool players and they are not going around the ref.”

“Fernandes is going to run down the ground and shoot, so Szoboszlai’s foot has to come off the ground to block it.”

“That takes place all the time and all over the field.” But because of where the game is now, VAR will look at that again. Fernandes is very lucky not to get a yellow.

“He’s lucky he didn’t get a straight red or a yellow.” As a full-back, I used to get one every 20 minutes.

Dixon then said, “He would have gotten a yellow card if that happened anywhere else on the field and he wasn’t booked.”

“Totally and completely.” If someone does that on the halfway line, I think the official will show him a yellow card.
