Jorg Schmadkte talked about his time working with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and one summer signing he thought they paid too much for.

Jorg Schmadtke talked about getting out of his Liverpool deal early and the “special abilities” that Jurgen Klopp has today.

The former sporting director of Liverpool has also said that he thought the £60 million buyout price they paid for Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig in July was too high.

When Szoboszlai joined from Leipzig, he was the fourth most expensive player ever at Anfield. Schmadtke is credited with getting the deal done before the buyout option ran out at the end of June.

Finally, Schmadtke admitted that he wasn’t sure about the price that was paid, but he now knows that his opinion was wrong after seeing how the Hungary leader has helped the team in his first season on Merseyside.

The German’s one-year contract was cut short at the end of the January transfer window. He also talked about how Klopp keeps his staff and players motivated at the AXA Training Centre on a daily basis.

Schmadtke told Die Zeit, “I didn’t see Klopp walk on water, but he has special skills.” “He wakes up four tired people who are sitting at a table when he walks in the room.” After a short time, they feel great and have lots of energy again. It’s really cool.

“He’s different when it comes to getting new players.” He agrees not to move if it’s not possible, but then he falls in love with another player. Thank you so much, that’s not something many teachers can do.

“This gift made it easier for us to work together.” At Liverpool, unlike the sides in Germany, I was in charge of transfers, but Jurgen and I worked together most of the time. No one could knock on his door after I told them not to. It was no longer my desire to be a part of the change that began with the new teacher.

“It was only fair that I got up from my chair on time.” To get better, you have to do things wrong. I could have kept some things from being said in public. Eight figures are paid for some moves. Now in Liverpool, we had someone named Dominik Szoboszlai who cost 70 million euros and was brought there from Leipzig.
