“We’ll see”—Everton star doesn’t train before game against Ipswich Town; update given
While Senegal was beating Malawi, Iliman Ndiaye had to leave the game.
Senegal has stated that Iliman Ndiaye, a forward for Everton, did not attend the most recent training session for the country.
After coming to Everton from Marseille for around £15 million in the summer transfer window, Ndiaye has had a great start to his career. He has scored two goals in nine games for Sean Dyche’s team so far and is now a regular left winger.
However, Everton seems to be worried about Ndiaye’s health as they prepare to play Ipswich Town in the first Premier League game of the new season on Saturday (15.00 BST). Former Sheffield United player left Senegal’s 4-0 win over Malawi last Friday on a limp. This afternoon, the Lions play Malawi again in a game that counts toward the African Cup of Nations.
The Senegal team trained at the Bingu Stadium in Lilongwe yesterday, but Ndiaye wasn’t there. Technical head Mayacine Mar said he doesn’t know if the 24-year-old will be able to play in the upcoming match. Mar told DSports: “Iliman remained at the hotel under medical observation, while we wait to see what happens tomorrow.”
Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti will not be able to play for Everton against Ipswich at Portman Road because they are both hurt. The team is also worried about the health of important defenders Jarrad Branthwaite (thigh) and Vitalii Mykolenko (calf), who both missed the 0-0 draw against Newcastle United.
Seamus Coleman (calf) is still getting better, but Nathan Patterson might be able to play again for the first time in six months. The right back has now played three times for the Blues’ under-21 team since hurting his hamstring badly in April of last year.
Before going to Ipswich, Everton had not lost in three games. A point and a place higher than the Tractor Boys, Dyche’s team is 15th in the Premier League table.
