“We were saddened to hear that the former AIK player” – Swedish professional footballer and Ex Arsenal Midfielder Kristoffer Olsson has been rushed to hospital due to serious illness
After having “an acute disease related to the brain,” Kristoffer Olsson is on a ventilator.
When Kristoffer Olsson lost consciousness at home because of a “acute disease related to the brain,” he was taken to the hospital and put on a ventilator. The 28-year-old Swedish player is getting care at Aarhus University Hospital after being rushed there last week.
Olsson’s present team, FC Midtjylland, released a statement to explain why he hasn’t been practicing with them lately. They said that he is “not due to self-harm of any kind.”
The statement said, “Kristoffer Olsson has a brain disease that seems to be very serious. This is not because he hurt himself or because of something outside of his control.”
“Some of Denmark’s best doctors are under a lot of pressure to make a diagnosis and start the right treatment right away.” Since he was admitted, Kristoffer has been with his close family and some of FC Midtjylland’s staff. He is also getting treatment from experts in the field.
FC Midtjylland strongly asks everyone to show respect and understanding so that Kristoffer, his family, and the doctors can have the peace of mind they need to make sure Kristoffer gets better as quickly as possible.
“Everyone at FC Midtjylland is of course deeply affected by Kristoffer’s sudden illness and our thoughts and full support go out to Kristoffer and his family.”
Olsson joined Arsenal as a young player in 2011, but he never played for the first team in a competitive game during his three years at the Emirates Stadium. In 2014, he was sent to Midtjylland on loan, but at the end of that season, the deal became permanent.
After that, the playmaker played for AIK, Krasnodar, and Anderlecht before coming back to Midtjylland in 2022. Once AIK knew for sure that their former player was sick, they quickly released a message supporting him on social media.
“Everyone at AIK Football is deeply saddened by his sudden illness. Kristoffer and his family are in our thoughts and prayers.” “Defeat Koffe!”
Olsson and his family also got well wishes from the Swedish national team, who wrote, “The whole Swedish football family is thinking of you and hopes that you will recover soon.” During this hard time, our thoughts are also with Kristoffer’s family and friends.
