Pep Guardiola has changed up his team for the visit of Premier League strugglers Luton to the Etihad Stadium, just a few days before Chelsea’s Champions League match against Real Madrid.
Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake were not playing for City against Real at the Bernabeu. Kevin De Bruyne also didn’t play because he got sick suddenly. Phil Foden hobbled off with a hurt leg, and Rodri later said that he needs to rest. He also hinted that John Stones might be having a problem.
Guardiola was glad to see Ake and Walker back in the team because they were put on the bench against Luton. Foden was also healthy enough to be put on the bench. It was De Bruyne’s turn to start again, while Rodri got a break. But Stones didn’t play at all because he “wasn’t fully fit.”
