Down the right side of the field in the 79th minute, Bournemouth’s players Solanke, Tavernier, and Cook cooperate in an attempt to increase the pressure on their opponents. Sinisterra is given an opportunity to shoot by Christie, but the substitute sends his long-range attempt flying well outside the upright.

78 minutes: Longstaff does not appear to have suffered a significant injury as he attempts to shoot the ball toward the goal from the edge of the penalty area for Bournemouth, but he is unable to strike the target with his attempt.

3 minutes ago at 19:09 GMT 75 minutes: The goal is allowed to stand after a VAR check for a probable offside by Semenyo. It’s possible that it means something, but even if it doesn’t, it’s probably still important to point out that Sean Longstaff was guarding the near post when the ball was sent from that corner. This may mean anything at all. It is possible that his mobility was limited as a result of the wounded ankle he sustained, which is why he was nowhere near Sinisterra when he headed the ball.

GOAL! 2-0 to Bournemouth United of Newcastle (Solanke 73), winner.
The lead held by Bournemouth is now doubled! They were successful in gaining a corner kick, and when the ball was crossed to the near post, Sinisterra was able to claim the header. His effort low to the ground causes a scramble in front of the net, which ultimately results in Solanke hooking the ball past Pope.

Fans are kept fully informed and up to date on the current activity both on and off the football ground when they watch a quality football broadcast. Every single day of the year, The Guardian brings you coverage of the “beautiful game” through liveblogs, match reports, and our Football Weekly podcast. This ensures that you are up to date on all of the most recent happenings in the sport, including player moves, upcoming games, goals scored, and more.

Importantly, we also investigate the less appealing aspects of Big Football, such as sportswashing, abuse, corruption, and of course, “that kiss.”

As a further demonstration of our concern for our audience, we have prohibited the publication of gambling advertisements alongside our sports writing. So that everyone, young and old alike, can enjoy the game without having to worry about placing a wager on the outcome of it.

Instead, why not put your money in our hands? If you find yourself drawn to the manner in which the Guardian approaches journalism, you should consider making a move to the publication. You can do so for a minimum investment of one dollar. The assembly can be completed in under a minute. I am grateful.

8 minutes ago 19:04 GMT 72 minutes: Longstaff is eager to keep going despite the clear fact that he has severely twisted his ankle. Despite this, he is not showing any signs of stopping.

70 min: After coming out on the losing end of a competition with Adam Smith, Sean Longstaff falls to the ground writhing in pain and grasping his ankle. Eddie Howe is shown expressing his disbelief by shaking his head and puffing up his cheeks while standing on the sidelines. He is already operating with a skeleton crew, and he cannot afford to suffer the loss of any more players due to illness or injury.

Adam Smith and Luis Sinisterra came on for Max Aarons and Justin Kluivert as Bournemouth made a double replacement at the 68-minute mark. The most recent stoppage in play was necessitated as a result of an injury sustained by Aarons.

14 minutes ago at 18:59 GMT
65 min: There is a pause in the action just a few moments after Anthony Gordon’s effort from a long distance and from a low angle caused Neto to make a save. Ben Parkinson, 18, comes on as a replacement for Lewis Miley, 17, and he is from Newcastle. Both of these young men are natives of Newcastle and are products of the city’s academy.

63 min: After taking the lead, the question now is whether or not Bournemouth can keep it. Newcastle have provided virtually nothing moving forward, and they are looking sluggish and exhausted. It seems unlikely that the situation will improve now that we are in the last third of the game and several Newcastle players who are not match fit start blowing out of their nether regions. This is a predicament that is unlikely to change. The majority of their players on the field have not had a lot of opportunities to play football thus far this season.

GOAL! Bournemouth 1-0 Newcastle (Solanke 60)

Bournemouth finally take the lead! Solanke gets on to a through ball from Semenyo that takes a nasty deflection into his path off Willock and fires home at the near post.
