The 2025 season is still coming together. What races will the top cyclists (Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, and Primoz Roglic) be riding in the coming weeks? This is one of the most-asked questions about the new season.

Everyone is most excited about the big races they will be in, like the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, or Vuelta a España. Pogacar’s double in 2024 set a trend, and now all 4 are likely to run in at least two of the three races.

Journalist Daniel Benson says that Roglic, the star rider for Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, is seriously thinking about taking part in both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. The Slovenian and his three competitors will all be able to make the Grande Boucle every year.

What does this mean? In the Vuelta a España, Primoz Roglic won the title in 2024. He would not defend it, and he would also not try to break the record he shares with Roberto Heras (4 wins each).

The powerful influence of Pogacar

It is true that there is no official word, but Roglic may not be going to the Vuelta because he thinks that his fellow countryman Pogacar will be there. As long as he can’t win the Spanish Grand Tour, the leader of UAE Team Emirates wants to keep adding races to his list.

Because he wasn’t the big star he is now, he only took part in the 2019 version. In the end, he still came in third place.

Because of this, Roglic would rather go for his second Corsa Rosa title, away from Tadej’s big frame. Geraint Thomas came in second, but the leader of Red Bull – BORA won the race by 14 seconds. It is important to remember, though, that Evenepoel was supposed to be the main foe but had to drop out because of COVID-19.
