Waiting for AJ Dybantsa before making a decision, was 5-star Caleb Wilson? What it means for basketball in Kentucky.

AJ Dybantsa, the best basketball talent in the class of 2025, has already signed with a school. He has promised to play for BYU, and his NIL deal is said to be worth about $7 million. It’s crazy how much money this is, but BYU was ready to spend it. Ky. was taken off Dybansta’s list weeks ago, but the Wildcats are still in the running for two other top-10 players: Nate Ament and Caleb Wilson. There are a lot of good signs for Wilson. Not many people are sure about Ament and Kentucky, but it’s still possible.

Rates on the Market

Some people think Wilson has been waiting to sign his own contract until Dybantsa has committed. In many ways, he would set the market rate, which would help other top recruits figure out how much they should ask for. Other players know that Dybantsa is one of the best players of his age, but there is still a high market rate.

Ky. and North Carolina

Wilson has publicly chosen five schools: Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee, and UCF. However, it was said that he would soon choose just two. A lot of people who know think that North Carolina and Kentucky will be those two schools.

It looks like Kentucky has Wilson in their sights, but North Carolina is still in the running. You have to wonder if North Carolina may have some extra speed now that Dybantsa has gone to BYU. Wilson is probably waiting to narrow his list down to two teams. In the end, the Tar Heels put in a strong effort to get him, but they failed. Do they now focus on Wilson and use their resources on him? Would Wilson have been happy with this? Or is Kentucky still the clear favorite?

Now that Dybantsa isn’t interested, Wilson’s recruiting must be coming to an end soon, too. North Carolina and Kentucky are the only teams left in the running.
