Chris Rigg is a young player for Sunderland who is being tracked by Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window.

It is thought that a number of clubs are interested in the talented youngster, who has some of the best goal-scoring records for players under 20. The Reds are one of them. This season, only Lamine Yamal had more goal-creating moves per 90 minutes than any other player 20 or younger.

Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool are among the teams that are keeping an eye on Rigg. Even so, that hasn’t stopped him from keeping up his good start to the season. He’s started all 12 games except for one Championship game so far.

Now, Mick Brown, a former chief scout for United, has revealed that the club wants to sign the 17-year-old. “He’s [Rigg] definitely one they’re interested in,” he stated. “He looks like the kind of young player they could help grow.” Scouts have been keeping a close eye on him at Sunderland almost every week this season.

“They will think about how good he is and how far he can go in the game. From what I’ve heard, they’re very impressed.” In the off-season, too, Man United and Sunderland get along great.

The team has sent scouts to watch a lot of young players all over the country, but Rigg’s play has been really good. They might watch his growth and then decide if they think he’s ready for the next level, but all signs point to him being able to do it.

In other news, AC Milan is said to want to sign Victor Lindelof, whose deal ends at the end of the season. The Italian giants are reportedly “seriously interested” in the Swedish centre back and “value his experience,” according to Caught Offside.

According to the report, Milan “could make an approach” for the 30-year-old player in the new year, when he will be free to talk to clubs abroad. Lindelof, who has been with United for the longest time, has had a hard time getting regular playing time over the past year. Since leaving Benfica for United in 2017, he has played in 266 games.
