Utd medical report: Ruben Amorim is worried about the health of seven players

On Sunday, when the Premier League season starts up again, Ruben Amorim takes over as manager of Manchester United for the first time. The game is against Ipswich, but players are already hurt a lot.

There are seven players that Ruben Amorim might not be able to bring to his first game as Manchester United manager, which is away at Ipswich on Sunday afternoon. All but one of them are defenders.

The international players for Amorim won’t be back at Carrington for another 48 hours before he starts giving his orders. United is still in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

And one of the big problems that came up in the last few weeks of Erik ten Hag’s tenure will also come up at the start of Amorim’s: there are too many centre halves in the treatment room.

The 3-4-3 system that worked so well for Amorim at Sporting Lisbon is likely to be used at Old Trafford. This is good news for the new manager.

Lisandro Martinez was sent back to Manchester by Argentina because he had a sore back when he got there. It is not clear if he will be able to play against the Tractor Boys.

Lionel Scaloni, the manager of Argentina, said before their game against Paraguay, “We didn’t expect Lisandro’s case.” “We saw that he had been hit in the back, but he didn’t seem to be hurt, just in pain.” When he got here, the pain got a little worse. He was tested and found not to be fit to be here.

Harry Maguire, the former captain, hurt himself against Aston Villa in October and won’t be able to play again until early December. Victor Lindelof, who has missed most of the season, left Sweden’s Nations League win over Slovakia on Saturday with a hamstring problem.

Kobbie Mainoo, a midfielder, is on his way back from a muscle strain he got on the same trip to Villa. He is not expected to be allowed to go to Portman Road, though.

Luke Shaw won’t be back for a few weeks, but he is back in training after hurting his hamstring and calf. On the other hand, Tyrell Malacia might be able to play for the first time in 18 months, probably as a replacement, after being given the all-clear after two knee surgeries.

Leny Yoro, who the club signed in the summer but broke his foot in preseason, might also finally play in a game this weekend.
