United suffer yet another injury blow as winger sustains injury while on international duty
Manchester United have reportedly suffered yet another injury setback with the injury sustained by Facundo Pellistri while playing for Uruguay.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United squad has been beset by an enormous number of injury issues, and it appears that Facundo Pellistri will be the latest to miss time.
The Uruguayan winger appears to be a vital component of Marcelo Bielsa’s formation and is a mainstay for his country.
Pellistri, on the other hand, has encountered difficulty making the United first team. In September, the winger was given a few opportunities to make an impression on the squad before being substituted when Antony returned to training.
Although he once again shone brightly in his country’s victory over Bolivia, the winger appears to have encountered an issue.
The Manchester Evening News reports that while on international duty with the South American squad, the winger suffered an injury. Without specificity, the nature of the injury remains unknown.
Pellistri was substituted and appears to be among the multitude of United players who are likely to miss the crucial match at Goodison Park against Sean Dyche’s Everton.
Rasmus Hojlund, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans, and Andre Onana are all sidelined or likely to miss the crucial match against the Toffees, who have just been penalized points for violating the Financial Fair Play regulations of the Premier League. Pellistri joins these players in that group.
The magnitude of the injury crisis at Old Trafford has been virtually absurd. According to the Daily Mail, the club is attempting to resolve these issues internally, but the situation remains concerning.
The greatest cause for concern in the current injury crisis will undoubtedly be the prevalence of muscular issues. Luke Shaw has only recently returned from a muscle injury, whereas Hojlund appears to have sustained a comparable condition.
It remains to be seen whether Ten Hag is overworking the players, as The Guardian claims, but the magnitude of the issues they have encountered is undoubtedly cause for concern.
In light of the upcoming holiday season, the Red Devils will be hoping to overcome their current injury malaise.
