TRANSFER: Nico Williams’ transfer stance issued to Liverpool following Manuel Ugarte transfer claim

Athletic Bilbao has explicitly stated their stance regarding the transfer of Nico Williams, despite Liverpool’s continued interest in the winger. Despite being associated with numerous players, Arne Slot and his team have yet to secure a signing this transfer window.

As he remains associated with a departure from Bilbao, numerous clubs throughout Europe are keeping a watch on the 21-year-old. Williams’ release clause is valued at £49 million (€58 million).

Bilbao has not engaged in discussions regarding Nico’s transfer options with any club and has no intention of doing so, as they are not amenable to accepting proposals, according to the newspaper Marca. Nevertheless, they would be amenable to negotiating a deal with the player if he requests to depart and if a club fulfils the entire release clause.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are also rumoured to be interested in the winger, in addition to Liverpool. However, it is rumoured that Barca is attempting to capitalise on Williams’ connection with Lamine Yamal in order to finalise the signing.

In another location, Liverpool-affiliated Manchester United has reportedly reached an agreement with Manuel Ugarte regarding his personal circumstances. Fabrizio Romano asserts that the terms of the contract have been discussed and approved.

For the past few months, the Uruguayan international has been the subject of much discussion in and around Anfield. Ugarte is reportedly surplus to requirements for the upcoming season and is considering a departure from Paris Saint-Germain due to a paucity of game time.

He is rumoured to be United’s third acquisition of the summer, following Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. Romano also mentions that Ugarte is interested in a transfer to Old Trafford, despite the fact that they will not be participating in the Champions League next season. The organisations are anticipated to continue their discussions.
