Lewis Dunk, a 32-year-old centre-back for Brighton & Hove Albion, is reportedly being pursued by Manchester United. Dunk is entering the final two years of his contract at the Amex.
In 2010, Dunk made his first-team debut for Brighton. He has since played for the Seagulls on 462 occasions in all competitions, contributing 31 goals and 15 assists.

The defender has established himself as a consistent performer in the Premier League, having appeared in 244 matches in England’s top tier. However, his contract is set to expire in June 2026, and it is anticipated that he may be on the move next summer.

Man United is closely monitoring Dunk’s situation, as the Red Devils are drawn to his “experience and leadership,” according to Fichajes.

Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof’s futures are all uncertain, according to the report, which indicates that the 20-time English champions will pursue the acquisition of an experienced centre-back next summer.

Evans is anticipated to retire from Manchester United upon the expiration of his contract next summer, while Lindelof is expected to depart the club on a free transfer at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

Maguire may also depart next year, leaving Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, and Leny Yoro as the Red Devils’ three viable centre-back options.

Dunk, a six-time England international, has been regarded as one of the most reliable center-backs in the Premier League in recent years. Consequently, his experience could be invaluable.

The defender made his professional debut for Brighton in League One, and he was a Championship player as recently as 2017. However, the Seagulls have since achieved Premier League status.

In six of his seven seasons in England’s top tier, Dunk has made a minimum of 33 Premier League appearances, demonstrating an extraordinary capacity to avoid injury.

The Englishman has appeared on three occasions this season, contributing to his team’s seven-point haul from their first three league matches, which included a 2-1 victory over Manchester United.

Dunk would not be a statement signing for the Red Devils; however, if Evans, Lindelof, and Maguire depart, he could be the ideal addition to assist Martinez, Yoro, and De Ligt in their future endeavours.
