The Swede has written a letter to the Spurs faithful in which he expresses his thoughts on the club, Ange Postecoglou, and his personal role in the situation.

Following his first significant encounter for the club, Dejan Kulusevski has provided an explanation as to what he shouted at the Tottenham fans and why he did so.

After arriving to Spurs, the Swede had a difficult time because the team struggled in his first few of games. However, Antonio Conte showed faith in the then-21-year-old player and included him in the starting lineup for a crucial match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Eventually, Kulusevski would go on to play a significant part in Tottenham’s thrilling triumph over Pep Guardiola’s team. He scored his first goal for the club early on, and after setting up Harry Kane’s late winner, he let out all of the frustration that he had been holding in.

Kulusevski recalled the following in a letter that was both in-depth and honest, which he wrote for The Players’ Tribune: “We all remember that game. After three minutes, I score, and it feels like thirty kilograms have been lifted off of my shoulders. After that, during the injury time, when the score was 2–2, I sent a cross to Harry, and he headed it in. Everyone begins to run toward him, but I am on the opposite side of the room. I turn around, I look at the fans, and I yell as loudly as I can the words, “I am him!” Oh, I am him! Just trying to impress myself.

It is not an exaggeration to say that that particular moment was among the happiest of my entire life. I’ve never felt more alive than I do right now in my entire life. In my mind, I can still recall thinking, “I don’t care about nobody anymore.” No one can ever again tell me that I am unable to participate in this game. There is no one who can tell me what I am capable of and what I am not capable of doing. Well, with the exception of Sandra, who is my sister, but even she was content. The words “Finally, your first good game in three months” were spoken to me by her.

Ange Postecoglou is currently serving as the head coach of Kulusevski, and the Swede believes that the motivated Australian and his contagious views on life and sport are the reasons for all that is going well within the north London club at the moment.

“I think a lot of our family atmosphere is down to Ange,” he explained to reporters. He is courageous, and he inspires you to be courageous. Even though he doesn’t talk much, we can listen to him for hours on end when he does speak. It is clear that he has gone through a lot, and he frequently discusses the lessons that he has learnt from his father regarding his life. When compared to other coaches I’ve had, he stands out as unique. In general, people talk about strategies and winning, which is a nice thing; however, when it comes to Ange, it means a little bit more since it is about who you are as a person. The issue is about who you are as a guy and the values that you hold.

Angel exclaims, “I don’t care if we lose, because in life, everyone loses,” and I agree with him. We are going to lose on our own terms if we do not win otherwise. The phrase “never go away from being you” is one that I desire to live by throughout my entire life. Now, we are going to compete against the best, but we are going to do it in our own way. We are going to play the way we have done for the entirety of our lives.

To clarify, we are looking to come out on top. We are putting in a lot of effort to ensure that you see the prizes that you are due. On your behalf, we exercise, we eat, and we sleep. We are here for you. We are aware that this club has the power to alter people’s lives. The fact that I see other people wearing my shirt is a very significant event for me because it indicates that we share a connection on some level. Not only that, but the fact that I can simply score a goal and make sixty thousand people happy is something that continues to amaze me.

“However, we are also a young team including a large number of new players. Not only are we not going to win every game, but Ange never even mentions the possibility of winning trophies. According to him, “Yes, we will get there, but first and foremost, we have to become ourselves.” Each of us needs to discover who we are.

After that, Destiny was shown a red card, and things became extremely challenging. When we played such a high line with nine men, I am aware that a lot of people thought we were doing something completely insane. One could say that we were ‘naïve’. The name of our team was “Spursy,” but do you know what I remember most about that team?

“I will never forget the moments that we came so close to winning by a score of two to two.” I can still vividly recall Vicario making a save with an energy that was comparable to that of the entire baseball stadium. I recall that we continued to attack, and it wasn’t because Ange had instructed us to do so; rather, it was because, when Destiny was kicked out of the game, he had no method of communicating with all of us. Instead, we continued to assault because we believed that it was the appropriate thing to do.

“Ange is quite pleased with that. Although we never stopped being ourselves, the moment that stands out to me the most was post-game. After suffering a 4–1 defeat, we went to the fans to show our support. We were not booed by you. You didn’t make a noise to us. We were praised by you. You were able to comprehend what it meant. We had been defeated in a game, but we had triumphed in life.
