To assist Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea could sign a record-breaker for £26 million on loan.
As a substitute for Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea are eager to acquire a striker during the January transfer window.
Chelsea might be able to strengthen their offensive ranks during the January transfer window through the loan acquisition of gifted adolescent Youssouf Moukoko. The Bundesliga club is reportedly contemplating allowing the forward to spend the second half of the season elsewhere, as he is struggling to earn playing time with Borussia Dortmund.
The Blues’ summer purchasing spree continued, bringing their total expenditures during Todd Boehly’s tenure to over £1 billion. However, despite the substantial expenditures, only one pre-existing striker, Nicolas Jackson, was acquired at that juncture.
Since his acquisition by Mauricio Pochettino’s side this summer with the intention of having him anchor the line for many years, the former Villareal star has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in the Premier League. Moments of potential have been displayed by the Senegalese international when required, but his six goals in eleven appearances ultimately fail to convey his true worth.
Consequently, Pochettino is eager for a marquee No. 9 to become available quickly, and Stamford Bridge is already evaluating a number of potential candidates. Due to the fact that the majority of elite players become available exclusively during the summer transfer windows, Chelsea may be forced to devise an innovative solution to one of their most critical challenges.
Even if Pochettino is only able to utilize the versatile attacker for the remainder of the season, Moukoko could be precisely that. As per TeamTalk, Dortmund is contemplating extending the loan agreement for the 19-year-old player in January due to their inability to furnish him with the necessary developmental opportunities.
The Germany international, who debuted at the age of 16 and became the youngest player to ever appear in the Bundesliga, has fallen down the hierarchy at Signal Iduna Park, and multiple clubs have already expressed interest in signing him.
Premier League clubs reportedly interested in a loan agreement for Moukoko include Crystal Palace and Fulham, but Chelsea should never be ruled out of a transfer competition. As longtime admirers of the highly-rated forward, the Blues “will be informed” of his availability. In fact, a short-term loan agreement could even position them favorably for a permanent transfer in the future, given that Transfermarkt values the adolescent at £26 million.
Brentford insists that Ivan Toney will spend the season with them and Napoli is unlikely to sell Victor Osimhen in January, Pochettino must demand an alternative solution or risk placing all of his faith in Jackson for the remainder of the season.
