“They should have gone for him, but instead they bought a flop”: Premier League star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Man United should have signed him when he was 25
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that while he was manager of Manchester United, the team should have signed the famous Arsenal player Declan Rice.
He was in charge at Old Trafford for more than two years. He had better records than most managers who took over after Sir Alex Ferguson, but he didn’t always get the players he wanted. There was rice to choose from.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thinks that Manchester United made a mistake when they didn’t sign Declan Rice, an excellent player from Arsenal.
In the Premier League, Declan Rice has shown consistently high levels of skill and ability for a long time.
When the Englishman started playing regularly in center for West Ham United, it was clear to everyone that he had what it took to become a superstar.
Manchester United was always linked with a move for Rice, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now confirmed that he really wants to bring him to the club.
Even so, United decided not to go through with the signing, and Arsenal ended up getting him last summer for a price that set a new club record.
In the most recent episode of Stick to Football on The Overlap, Solskjaer talked about how much he thought Rice was a great player. Several times, we’ve talked about him. I think that having him in the middle of the field would have helped us a lot. I think that his long legs, which covered the whole field, have helped him get better at making plays.
In response to Gary Neville’s question about Rice’s availability, Solskjaer said, “Yes!” He would have had to pay money to do what we wanted him to do, but we had the chance and the need to do it.
Declan Rice is generally thought to be the best midfielder in the Premier League right now, and Manchester United would have been very smart to sign him.
The Englishman, who is 25 years old, has all the qualities that people want in a midfielder. He has added goals and assists to his success in addition to the skills he already had. Because of this, he might be able to lead Arsenal to win in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season.
It is likely that Manchester United would have done much better if they had signed Rice while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was boss. His performance could have been much better than in previous years, but the Glazers and other decision-makers chose not to go with that choice.
There is no doubt that the move in question was a very big mistake.
