Real Madrid eliminated City from the Champions League. City was eliminated immediately.

Immediately after their Champions League quarterfinal shootout loss to Real Madrid, fans of Manchester City have expressed their rage at a certain individual.

On Wednesday night, the 14-time champions Madrid was able to oust the reigning champions City from the competition.

As a result of a tremendously enjoyable 180 minutes of football in addition to extra time, the Spanish team emerged victorious on penalties by a score of 4-3 after the match in question ended 4-4.

The match was in a state of fine equilibrium going into the second leg at the Etihad Stadium, following the thrilling 3-3 draw that took place in Spain the previous week.

A goal scored by Rodrygo early in the encounter in Manchester gave the La Liga team the lead. However, Kevin De Bruyne, a great player for City, equalized the score in the second half, which resulted in the match going into extra time.

Over the course of the extra period, neither team was able to find a way to win, which resulted in the match being decided by penalties.

After Madrid’s first penalty kick was taken by Julian Alvarez and was successful, Bernardo Silva had the opportunity to put City ahead by two goals in the shootout. However, Luka Modric wasted the opportunity.

The Portugal international, however, was forced to wait because a supporter in the home end refused to return the ball, which Modric had kicked into the crowd in an attempt to demonstrate his frustration.

The ball was eventually thrown back onto the pitch after a period of waiting had passed it.

However, it appears like Silva was not deterred by the wait, as he appeared to shoot directly into the arms of Andriy Lunin, the goalkeeper for Real Madrid.

The subsequent penalty that City was supposed to take was missed by Mateo Kovacic, which gave Madrid the upper hand in the shootout. Antonio Rudiger went on to score the game-winning penalty for the away team, thereby securing a historic victory away from town.

It didn’t take long for City supporters to express their displeasure with the fan who delayed Silva’s penalty kick.

“Very City of our own fans to hold on to the ball for ages so Bernardo over thought it,” a member of the X community wrote.

Congratulations to the jerk of a fan who iced Bernardo by not returning the ball to him and threw it back. Another person chimed up, “Genius.”

“That City fan who held onto the ball before the Bernardo Silva penalty is definitely up for prat of the week,” added a further comment.

One of the opposing fans continued by saying, “City fans were the ones who caused it, what happened to the ball, and why were there no other balls around?”
