The Kentucky Wildcats are “No match” for the Ohio State Buckeyes, according to an insider.
Today in the CBS Sports Classic, the Ohio State Buckeyes play the Kentucky Wildcats. Most Ohio State fans will only watch the game until the College Football Game comes on. Everyone is looking at Ohio State’s football team and Ryan Day. But Kentucky wants to win because they haven’t beaten Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic yet—they’re 0-2 against the Buckeyes in these games.
We talked about Ohio State for the Fansided network of sites. The site ScarletandGame.com is run by Ryan Stano. I asked him a few things about the New York City game between Kentucky and Ohio State.
1. Tell me about the Ohio State basketball team. What do they do well and not so well?
Stano: Ohio State does really well when they make three-point shots. They want to start it from the bottom and make teams work to catch up. They won’t be able to win many games with few points. The Ohio State Buckeyes also love going downhill during transition. Jake Diebler wants them to play like an NBA team from now on. On the other hand, they don’t have any rim defense without Aaron Bradshaw. Their defense isn’t very good if they can’t see goals going off on the other end. They also hit a lot.
What should we expect from this game against Kentucky?
Stano: I think Kentucky will beat Ohio State easily. They can’t stop Amari Williams in the low post, and he could get 16 boards. They were blown out from three by Auburn, and I think that will happen again in this game. It would surprise me if the score was only 10 points.
3. What do you think the game will be like?
Stano: This game will end in an 87-70 loss for Ohio State. There will be no point where it is really close.
4. Are you sure that Ohio State basketball fans will even pay attention to the game? Or will they just watch it to pass the time until the College Football Playoff game?
Stano: If things don’t get out of hand, they might stay for the first half.
