The Grizzlies have a potential new trade target.

The Grizzlies are in need of a seasoned wing scorer, and a top candidate is currently available for trade.

As the NBA Finals draw to a close, the fallout from the transaction involving Desmond Bane continues to have an impact.

The Memphis Grizzlies have a lot of options after receiving a large trade for their starting shooting guard from the previous four seasons.

A Grizzlies trade target whose name has been in the rumor mill for some time is now reportedly available.
The Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan may become a trade chip for the clubs that are unable to acquire Kevin Durant, according to NBA sources Jake Fischer and Marc Stein.

Despite being 35 years old and still producing at a high level, DeRozan has a team-friendly contract and is contributing to the Kings’ current transition following the trade of De’Aaron Fox and last season’s playoff omission.

The Grizzlies may not be actively seeking Kevin Durant at this point, but if they inquire about DeRozan at his valuation, they could get two players they need after trading Desmond Bane.

DeRozan can fill their starting small forward position in the short term

Marc Stein and Jake Fischer also reported that the Kings privately expressed that they could obtain a first-round pick (currently don’t have one) as high as the early 20s in the NBA draft. The Memphis Grizzlies hold the 16th pick and are looking to add win-now players to a team that is building around Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Unfortunately, DeRozan wouldn’t check off all boxes for the team as he is a career 30% three-point shooter and hasn’t been known as the greatest defender. However, what he can provide is veteran leadership in the locker room, a known mid-range bucket getter, and a half-court scorer in the closing stretches of the game when the Grizzlies have struggled the most.
