The CEO of Manchester City reveals teen Girona star’s future plans.

The CEO of Manchester City has disclosed the club’s intentions regarding Sávio, a hero for Girona, following his outstanding start to the LaLiga season.

Girona, an affiliate of City Football Group (CFG), are currently leading LaLiga with eleven victories in thirteen games. The club are standing atop the standings after a sensational start to the season in the Spanish top division.

Despite being relegated from LaLiga in the 2018-19 season and spending time in the second division of Spanish football, the White and Reds are establishing themselves in their second season back in the major leagues.

Although several CFG players are performing admirably for Girona, Sávio, a teenage sensation, stands out from the throng. As an outstanding performer, the Brazilian, who is currently on loan from French CFG club ESTAC Troyes, has contributed to eight goals so far in the season.

Naturally, inquiries have surfaced regarding the possibility that the adolescent is en route to Manchester City, the player’s rightful owner. The club’s chief executive officer, Ferran Soriano, disagrees.

“I believe Savinho will remain in Girona for additional seasons after the current one concludes,” Soriano told Mundo Deportivo, as cited by Sports Witness.

“From here, he will not relocate.”

The pathway from the CFG pipeline to the Manchester City first team has been rarely traversed, as only a limited number of players who entered the multi-club system managed to make it to Pep Guardiola’s first team.

However, as the affiliate clubs achieve greater success on the field, it may become less difficult for players to make the City first team in the future years.

Athletic Club Bilbao will host Girona following the international break as they attempt to extend their phenomenal run towards a possible LaLiga championship.

Manchester City, meanwhile, maintains its lead in its league and will host Liverpool, which is in second place, at the Etihad Stadium this winter as the Premier League title race heats up.
