The AP voters made up for the mistake they made last week by moving Kentucky up to #4.

According to the AP, the Kentucky Wildcats are now the fourth-best team in the country. They were fifth last week, and since no one ahead of them lost, it was thought that they would stay there. That wasn’t true; they beat the Duke Blue Devils, who only played one game last week, on the list. Even though they won, they got in trouble for it. Or maybe the AP voters were fixing a mistake they made with the scores the week before?

Kentucky moved up to fifth place last week, but people quickly found a mistake in the ranks. Duke came in fourth. Some jokes on the internet said something like, “If only there was a way to find out which of these two teams was better, maybe a game on a neutral floor.” It happened just like that when Kentucky beat Duke 77-72 a few weeks ago.

We wrote about that rudeness last week in this piece. People in Kentucky and across the country who watch the sport were left scratching their heads. Why did Duke get ahead of Kentucky when Kentucky beat them? Some people thought that Kentucky might be getting punished for their loss to Clemson, but that was wrong because Duke has two losses in a row, and Clemson isn’t a bad team. The score was Quad-1, which is a very good loss.

After Duke played an unknown school, things were made right, and Kentucky won two games, including one over their rival in Louisville. Now, though, Kentucky only has two games left until the end of 2024, which is a worry. If they don’t have many games, will they get jumped the same way everyone else does? This is when Duke’s first three games in the ACC season will be played. I guess we’ll find out.
