Ten Hag’s decision left the Manchester United dressing room “frustrated.”

According to Football Insider, Manchester United players are getting angry at Erik ten Hag for taking Marcus Rashford out of the game last week during the 3-3 draw against Porto instead of starting him.

Ten Hag has been under more and more pressure lately, both inside and outside the club. Mick Brown, a former friend of Sir Alex Ferguson, says that his new decision has caused even more worry at Old Trafford.

What he said:

“That’s strange.” It’s really hard to understand what they were thinking. It’s also not the first time this has happened.

“I have heard that some players are upset about these decisions and how he’s treating them in the locker room.”

Rashford was taken off at halftime of last Thursday’s Europa League game, even though he scored and set up two goals to help United take a 2-0 lead. He was taken off and replaced by Alejandro Garnacho, which made people worry that he was hurt.

In an interview after the game, Ten Hag said that the only reason he took the England international off was to keep an eye on player health before Sunday’s game against Aston Villa.

Man United players are said to be uneasy about the Dutchman’s choice, since the team is still 14th in the Premier League with only eight points after seven rounds. United has had the worst start to a Premier League season in 35 years.

Ten Hag Stays Out of the Old Trafford Sack

Even though Ten Hag hasn’t won in five games, he hasn’t been fired yet. After a seven-hour board meeting, Man United’s leaders still haven’t told the Dutchman what will happen with his job at the club.

The former Ajax manager will now have more games to try to turn things around. The first one is on October 19 at home against Brentford.

Fabrizio Romano says that INEOS and the club’s leaders are still thinking about Ten Hag’s situation and will “take their time” before making a choice about his job.

Games 125
Goals 71
Draws 19
Losses 35
Goals scored / conceded 230 / 176
Points per game 1.86

Only 19th-placed Southampton has scored fewer goals than Man United, who have scored five in seven Premier League games. However, with only eight goals given up so far, their defense is one of the best this season.

After the October international break, Ten Hag is due to return to the club. He is adamant that he is “not thinking about the sack,” even though the pressure is growing.

If Thomas Frank is chosen to replace Ten Hag, Manchester United will be “impressed.”

GIVEMESPORT sources say that Man United still likes Brentford manager Thomas Frank even though Erik ten Hag’s future is unclear. They have marked the Danish manager as a possible candidate for the job of manager.

United officials are said to be “very impressed” with Frank’s tactical knowledge, but some worry that the job at Old Trafford may be too big for him at this point in his career.

The 51-year-old took over as manager of Brentford in October 2018 and has since led the Bees to 122 wins in 283 games. He led Brentford to ninth place in the Premier League in the 2022–23 season, which was their best ever finish in the top league.
