Ten Hag thinks he still has Man Utd’s support because “we are on the same page.”

According to Erik ten Hag, the people in charge at Manchester United would have told him if his job was in danger.

Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was at Villa Park for the 0-0 Premier League draw with Aston Villa. The game happened as Ten Hag was under increasing pressure because his team has now gone five games without a win, including the terrible three-goal home loss to Tottenham a week ago.

Ratcliffe didn’t show any emotion when the game ended. The only interaction from the traveling executives that could be seen was the talk between United’s CEO, Omar Berrada, and his sporting director, Dan Ashworth. United is now 14th in the table.

Ten Hag said he hadn’t talked to any of them between the end of the game and when he was supposed to be with the media.

When asked if he was sure that United’s top leaders were behind him, Ten Hag replied, “I don’t know that is different because they should have told me.” We talk to each other in a very open and honest way.

“I would say every day we talk, so I expect I will speak with them.”

The Dutchman also said this about the outside noise that affects his future: “You said it very well: outside noise.” On the inside, we’re upset. We understand that we need to do better. Most of all, we need to score more.

Before, Ten Hag told Sky Sports that everyone at the club was “on the same page” and “on board.”

He also said, “We know what we’re going through; it takes a long time.”

“We’ve been through two really tough away games.” We showed how much we believe and trust each other as a team.

United hasn’t had this few points in their first seven games since the 1989–90 season, when Sir Alex Ferguson, who was also at Villa Park, was under a lot of pressure before winning the FA Cup.

United has never scored less than five goals in their first seven games. The last time this happened was in 1972–73. In their last three games, they haven’t scored a goal, and no United player has scored more than one league goal this season.

Against Aston Villa, their best chances came when Marcus Rashford shot and Emiliano Martinez stopped it, and late in the game, Alejandro Garnacho failed to find captain Bruno Fernandes with a cross-field pass that would have given him a clear run on the home goal.

“After this block of games, that is where we are really short,” he said.

“Aside from today, we’re making chances, but we need to be more clinical and cruel in the other team’s box.” We need to get this done.”

Ten Hag went to cheer on the United fans when the game was over. He works with Ruud van Nistelrooy, who used to play striker for United and is one of the top options to replace Ten Hag if United decide they need to make a change. Fans who came to see Van Nistelrooy sang his name when he went to thank them.

From now until the November international break, United has three Premier League home games in a row. Also, on October 24, they play Fenerbahce in Istanbul in the Europa League. Fenerbahce is now managed by Jose Mourinho, who used to lead United.

Even though they cost almost £110 million, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee don’t seem like they will be very dangerous.

Hojlund played his first Premier League game since July, when he hurt his hamstring in a preseason game against Arsenal. It was at Villa Park. Six subs that Ten Hag brought in cost the club a total of £330 million. Zirkzee was one of them.

“We trust the players and one day it will click,” he stated.

“There are good reasons. It would be fair to say that Rasmus Hojlund scores the most goals for us, but he is still getting fit for games. Marcus Rashford scored and set up a good goal in Porto on Thursday. He made good chances today. Hey Alejandro, Every game this season, Garnacho has been a threat, and Bruno Fernandes can score goals.

“We will get there.”
