Ten (10) Key Tottenham players to leave Spur in summer transfer window
The Tottenham Hotspurs are attempting to get back into the UEFA Champions League, which could result in a significant number of players leaving the club this summer.
There is a possibility that Tottenham Hotspur and manager Ange Postecoglou will allow a total of ten players from the first team to leave during the 2017 summer transfer window.
Despite the fact that he is still in the beginning stages of his first full year as manager in north London, the former Celtic head coach has gotten off to a solid start so far. Spurs are hoping to return to the UEFA Champions League the following season if they finish in the top four come May.
Three players in particular, Harry Kane, Hugo Lloris, and Eric Dier, have said their goodbyes to a club that they have spent a combined total of 41 years with in the modern era. However, the weight of expectation is now going to lie on the shoulders of new heroes SonHeung-min, James Maddison, and Richarlison of the club.
We here at football.london have investigated which players might be let go by Postecoglou as the summer months draw near. He is looking to make more advancements in what will be his second full season as manager, which will take place in 2024/25.
I am Brandon Austin.
The player, who is now 25 years old, was elevated to the first team in 2021; however, he has not been able to create an impression since then, and as a result, it appears doubtful that he will be offered a new contract once his current one ends this summer.
While on loan at Viborg FF and Orlando City, he has not only failed to make an appearance for the senior team, but his performance there has also been unimpressive.
A. Spence, Djed
The fact that Djed Spence is now in the midst of his third loan stint with the club and his second stint under Postecoglou is sufficient to provide you with all the information you require regarding the player’s potential if you are interested in learning more about his future.
Rennes, Leeds United, and Genoa have all supplied the 23-year-old player with a temporary home. He stood out during Nottingham Forest’s ascent to the Premier League and has been shown to be an impressive player. However, his time spent with the Spurs has been frustrating, and it would be in everyone’s best interest to sever relations.
It was Sergio Reguilon.
Sergio Reguilon’s stock has increased significantly compared to what it was a year ago as a result of his consistent loan stints with Manchester United and Brentford this season. It is quite possible that he will leave Spurs in the near future on loan.
Considering that Destiny Udogie, Ben Davies, and Ryan Sessegnon are all ahead of him in the pecking order, it is quite possible that the Spaniard will be able to justify a move to the top division, and he still has a lot to offer at the age of 27.
The name Japhet Tanganga
Japhet Tanganga has not been able to achieve the same level of success and subsequent promise that he had during his first season with the Lilywhites, despite the fact that he was able to break into the team under the direction of Jose Mourinho.
He is still only 24 years old, but he has found a new home with Championship Milwall. A step down could provide the defender better development and more guaranteed game time that he would not have otherwise had.
This is Tanguy Ndombele.
Tanguy Ndombele, another player who showed a great deal of promise, has had successful stints with Napoli and Galatasaray over the past several years, but he appears to be out of favor once again in north London.
A number of injuries plagued his time with Spurs between the years 2019 and 2022, and at the age of 27, Turkish giants Galatasaray might be able to assist in removing his rumored weekly pay of 120,000 pounds from the wage bill.
Hojbjerg, Pierre-Emile in full
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s attitude is impressive to say the least, given that he has fought back to reclaim a position under Postecoglou this season. However, this does not change the fact that it is still not out of the realms of possibilities to cash in on him later on in this year.
Hojbjerg, who is 28 years old, is a persistent tackler who frequently gets into trouble. In 2023/24, he made only six Premier League starts and had three yellow cards and three cautions. His future continues to be a contentious issue.
A. Devine, Alfie
After spending the current season at League One club Port Vale, Alfie Devine, who is said to have pleased Postecoglou during pre-season, is another young player who may seek for definite playing time in 2024. Devine made the move to Plymouth in January, shortly after spending this season with Port Vale.
The fact that Devine has already played thirty-six games will have done him a great deal of good, but on the other hand, his future is still uncertain, and Spurs may want to cash in on him.
The Scarlett Dane
Dane Scarlett, who is 19 years old, suffered a rough loan stint with Ipswich Town, which resulted in his return in January. Additionally, the fact that he played very little minutes in cup competition suggests that he will likely spend more time away from the club in 2024.
However, there is quality in there, and Spurs aren’t exactly flush with choices in attack at the moment. It remains to be seen if that will be on loan or permanently.
A. Parrott, Troy
The striker Troy Parrott, who has been dubbed Harry Kane’s understudy, appears to be facing a key make-or-break phase this summer. This summer could be the beginning of the end for his career at Tottenham.
The 22-year-old player has already been on loan five times, and he is currently playing for Excelsior in the Eredivisie. In his 24 games for Excelsior, he has had seven goals scored against him. It is yet unknown what his future holds.
A. Gil, Bryan
Bryan Gil has made it very known that he intends to leave Tottenham in the summer, and he was approached by both Feyenoord and Fiorentina in January.
As a result of a failed transfer that has resulted in the Spaniard making only 42 appearances for the club, the most of which were as a substitute, it is possible that he may be sent back to his current loan club, Sevilla.
