Tadej Pogacar has already started getting ready for Milano-Sanremo, so cyclists be careful!

Tadej Pogacar was seen training for Milano-Sanremo, one of the most famous bike races, so it looks like he is no longer on vacation. The people in charge at UAE Team Emirates, including Pogacar, haven’t tried to hide the fact that Milano-Sanremo is the race they want to win most in 2025.

There is a film on social media that shows the World Champion and Giro-Tour winner already riding up the Poggio on a training ride. This is the part of the race where Pogacar has tried to get ahead of his competitors in the past but failed. Maybe he has figured out how to do it this time.

He lost to Jasper Philipsen last year after Mathieu van der Poel blocked the Slovenian’s charge. Since the Poggio is so close to the finish, some may wonder why Pogacar always chooses to attack there and not try to win before the climb. Besides, he won the World Championships in Zurich with a 100km solo attack. In 2024, he also did other crazy long distance attacks, such as at Strade Bianche and Il Lombardia.

On March 22, 2025, Milano-Sanremo will happen. That’s just under 4 months until the first big race of the new season. Given how much Pogacar accomplished in 2024, it’s amazing that he still wants to win so badly. But so far, Milano-Sanremo has been the hardest race for Pogacar. He hasn’t been able to get ahead of stronger riders before the sprint so far. Could 2025 be his year?

Pogacar hasn’t said for sure what he plans to do in 2025, but it’s likely that he will be back at the Tour de France to try to win his fourth yellow jersey. He might not ride in the Giro d’Italia again, but he might try to win the Vuelta a España. He has yet to win either of these races.
