Martin Odegaard, an attacking midfielder for Arsenal, has evaluated Bukayo Saka.

Odegaard has provided his assessment of Arsenal and England international winger Saka’s recent development.

This past weekend, Arsenal hosted Burnley at the Emirates Stadium in North London for the Premier League.

I had predicted an easy victory for the Gunners.

Indeed, they did so.

The victory for Arsenal was 3-1.

Assisting was provided by Bukayo Saka.

Due to an injury, Martin Odegaard was unable to participate in the game.

In his match preview for the official Arsenal website, Odegaard emphasized Saka’s significance to the current squad.

The Norwegian international maestro stated that Saka is already a leader despite being only 22 years old.

The former attacking midfielder for Real Madrid stated that the England international’s decision to don the captain’s insignia during his absence did not surprise him.

“It’s been extremely frustrating to miss the last couple of games, as well as our last league game here, the 5-0 victory over Sheffield United,” Odegaard told Arsenal’s official website prior to this past weekend’s match against Burnley.

“Bukayo donned the captaincy for that match, which I believe was his first as Arsenal captain; it is clear that he is expanding his extensive repertoire of attributes to include leadership.”

“Having observed it for some time, I am not astonished that he is progressing in this manner.

“I am ecstatic for him; he certainly merits it.” Similar to myself, he does not dominate the conversation or be the loudest individual in the locker room.

“However, he is perpetually available, possesses exceptional intelligence, and is progressively assuming greater accountability both on and off the field.

“Being a great player and a great person, he truly merits his position as one of the team captains. I am honored to have him as a teammate and am filled with pride for his accomplishments.”
