Sir Jim Ratcliffe dismisses Manchester United’s chief for acquiring “dud” Casemiro

According to FootballTransfers, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was profoundly unimpressed by Manchester United’s acquisition of Casemiro, and it reportedly played a substantial role in the impending departure of Richard Arnold.

According to sources, the Ineos CEO, who is expected to acquire more than a 25% stake in the Premier League giants, could not fathom the club’s decision to purchase the veteran midfielder from Real Madrid last summer. The British billionaire considered him to be a “dud.”

The move, according to our sources, was a significant factor in Arnold, the club’s CEO, being compelled to tender his resignation earlier this month.

In 2022, Real Madrid paid €60 million plus €10 million in add-ons to acquire Casemiro. The Brazil international was instrumental in Manchester United’s third-place Premier League finish and qualification for the Champions League last season.

Nevertheless, Casemiro’s performance this season has been dismal, and rumors have circulated that he might be amenable to a January transfer to the Saudi Pro League, an offer that Manchester United might be willing to consider considering his enormous salary.

This is one of the factors that has prompted Manchester United to inquire about potential targets for the No.6 position. It was disclosed exclusively by FootballTransfers that the club had contacted Fluminense regarding Andre, a player who is also favored by Fulham.

Arnold, who has been with Manchester United since 2007, announced in a club statement last week that he would be departing Old Trafford.

“After sixteen years with the club, Richard Arnold has decided to resign as chief executive officer of Manchester United.” In conjunction with his current responsibilities as general counsel, Patrick Stewart will assume the position of interim CEO. Richard will continue to offer transitional assistance until the conclusion of December. A comprehensive search will be initiated in pursuit of a new permanent CEO.

Arnold stated, “For the past sixteen years, it has been an immense honor to serve this magnificent football organization. Amid periods of success and failure, our employees’ and supporters’ unwavering commitment has remained consistent.

“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all individuals involved for their unwavering loyalty and dedication. I extend my sincere best wishes to all those affiliated with the club for the future.”
