SHOCKING: Victor Osimhen finds a stunning escape route from Serie A giants Napoli as he joins Turkish giants on loan
It seems that Victor Osimhen has finally found a path out of Napoli by initiating negotiations for a loan deal with the Turkish club Galatasaray.
In recent weeks and months, the Nigerian forward had been associated with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Saudi club Al-Ahli. However, the transfer window in Europe’s most prominent leagues concluded last week without an agreement being reached for him.
Galatasary is in dire need of a centre forward following the injury of Mauro Icardi, and the Turkish league transfer window is not set to close until September 13.
Galatasaray announced on Instagram late Monday that official negotiations have commenced between the player and his club, SSCN Napoli SPA, concerning the provisional transfer of professional footballer Victor James Osimhen.
Osimhen’s career has been plagued by injuries, despite the fact that he scored 26 goals in 2023 when Napoli won Serie A.
Napoli has already replaced Osimhen by signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea, which reunited the Belgium striker with coach Antonio Conte after the duo won Serie A at Inter Milan. Consequently, Osimhen has not been training with the club.
Osimhen has an abundance of time to continue playing at the highest level of football at the age of 25. He has scored a total of 76 goals in 133 matches across all competitions for Napoli since joining in a club-record €70 million four years ago, and he is renowned for his aerial prowess and facial mask.
Osimhen was displeased with Napoli’s 10th-place finish during its title defence last season, despite the fact that he had scored 15 Serie A goals during that campaign.
Osimhen would be reunited with Dries Mertens, Napoli’s all-time highest scorer, at Galatasaray.
