Sending a scout to watch a summer target made PSG pay attention.
During the summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain was interested in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a star player from Napoli. The capital club was very interested in the Georgian player, but a deal never came together.
It was clear that Napoli would not sell Kvaratskhelia, and they stuck to their decision. Kvaratskhelia played in 45 games during the 2023–24 season and scored 11 goals and set up 9 others. His work was also very important to Napoli’s 2023 Serie A title win.
Even though Kvaratskhelia was on a team that won the league, he didn’t get a new contract, and his current one ends in 2027. Still, negotiations for a new deal have come to a halt because of the difference in wages between the two sides.
To keep the player at the Stadio Maradona for another season, his camp wants €8 million, but the Partenopei will only give €6 million plus add-ons. If these disagreements keep going on, other European clubs will start to look around, and one will already be making plans to possibly go after him.
Tuttomercatoweb says that Manchester United sent a scout to see Kvaratskhelia play this weekend against Empoli.
It was said a few months ago that Antonio Conte, the manager of Napoli, would not allow any offers to be made for his star player. That might change, though, if no new deal is made between now and next summer.
