Toni Kroos had a message for Jude Bellingham on Saturday evening, after the 20-year-old obtained the Champions League trophy.

On Saturday evening, Jude Bellingham collected a Champions League victors’ medal for Real Madrid, capping an incredible debut campaign in which he assisted the club in defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Wembley final. His 20-year-old assist to Vinicius Junior for Madrid’s second goal sparked post-match social media conversation involving his comrade Toni Kroos.

“Not bad for a first season…” Kroos remarked in jest in response to Bellingham’s jubilant Instagram post-match. Vinicious Junior’s replay of “New LEGEND,” Thibaut Courtious’s “What a player” remark, and Bellingham’s England teammate Harry Maguire’s three applause emoticons were also noteworthy.

Saturday night’s victory over Dortmund marked the last club match of Kroos’ career. The German is due to hang up his boots following this summer’s Euro 2004, marking the final time two stars will play together. In contrast, Bellingham’s Real Madrid career is just beginning.

After the jubilation surrounding Real Madrid’s historic 15th European Cup triumph subsides, both players will assemble with their national teams in anticipation of Euro 2024 preparations. Bellingham is a near-certainty to be present on June 16 when England face Serbia in the tournament opener, whereas Kroos will be hoping to make his debut on June 14 when hosts Germany face Scotland.
